This wine was harvested, hand-crafted, crushed and put in barrels with perfect balance meaning mother nature provided the ultimate ripeness, acidity and balance. Small berries, low yields and dramatic mountain soils create intense varietal character in this noble wine. Chewy tannins wrap around intense ripe cherries, sweet berries, currants and toasty oak. Everything wine maker David Hunt does is done to perfection.
The 2013 Acaibo is made in beautiful Sonoma County, in the French Bordeaux style by French winemakers Claire Villars-Lurton, and Gonzague Lurton. New to America with vineyards all over the world, they came here to take advantage of the beautiful wine growing conditions Sonoma County is known for. This delicious wine is for the adventurous. Looking to taste something new? All the grapes are grown on their own estate. This is an artistic blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc. The Cabernet Franc and Merlot clearly display their hillside origins. Rocky soils created through volcanic activity millennia ago, contribute a mineral richness and add to the wine’s complexity and deep red fruit aromas. It’s purity and finesse show up immediately to the discerning palate.
